The Penn State Alumni AssociationWhat’s been happening: Wyomissing Polytech and working at Textile Machine Works proved to be a valuable experience. After leaving Textile in 1963, I spent the next 26 years at Mack Trucks as an Ind. & Mfg. Engineer in Allentown, Safety and Plant Engineer at Brockway in Cortland N.Y. and then as an Engineer Consultant at their new truck plant in Winnsboro, S.C.. I was able to take early retirement at age 50 in 1987, then a 5 year stint at Bell & Howell in Allentown as a Project Engineer. My wife Carol and I celebrated 50 years of marriage with a family cruise to the Western Caribbean. We have 3 children and 4 grandkids with another due in July 09. Our oldest grandchild is a Sargeant in the Army and is likely going to Iraq this fall. Our son Kevin is a Plastic Surgeon in Honolulu, Hi. and we have spent the past few winters there. We live in FL in "The Villages" (a golf retirement community) where we enjoy golf,swimming,line dancing,I also play in a Bluegrass Band and also head up a Ukelele band -life is great!!!!! |
